SkyCam is a modern ground-to-air Camera develeoped for Style Skydiving. It was certified by CISM in 2022 to be used as the offical camera for a CISM-competition.

Standard components

SkyCam was built with basis components and widely used standards such as HDMI for videosignals and USB for data transmission. So it would be possible to exchange parts of the System such as the camera itself.

Stand-alone system

SkyCam can be used without any additional Hardware like a Laptop. The special Software is deployed on a Linux-based mini-computer which is already built-in.

Remote access

SkyCam-software can be easily accessed from remote if wanted and needed. So in case of a failure the diagnosis could be done without being on-site.

Digital sensors

Compared to other vendors SkyCam uses digital Sensors (9 degrees of freedom – inertial measurement unit). Those sensors guarantee a wear-free use. Calibartion of the sensor is not necessary anymore during normal use.

Software

Heart of SkyCam is the the software behind it. It’s running on a mini-Linux-computer (Raspberry Pi) and is fully customziable.

The software can be operated by a keyboard which comes with SkyCam or your mobile Devices (iOS, Android).

SkyCam can be operated in two different modes. Either it integrates into an already setup Wifi-Network or it could be operated in adhoc-mode, to which other mobile devices can connect to operate SkyCam.
